As a 38-year-old woman with a passion for graphic design, I embarked on my journey in 2004. While the graphic design field has shown a promising almost 50/50 gender split, some of my previous career experiences revealed the broader industry's persistent gender imbalances, particularly in executive positions and on boards.
Having witnessed the male-dominated dynamics within several companies I have worked for, I found solace in the graphic design field's near-even split, fostering an environment where creativity and innovation thrive regardless of gender. However, the overarching narrative of gender disparities in the business world motivates me to voice the importance of continued support for women. Beyond my professional journey, a glimpse into the entertainment industry's shift towards celebrating women's achievements, including the growing popularity of women's sports, highlights the transformative power of representation. Which leaves me with the question: What else is possible?
